SUMMARY:5-Day Irrigation ’Boot Camp’ training event At the Bay Area Transit Authority (BART)
DESCRIPTION:This five day training event is designed for the entry level irrigation\ntechnician or the tech with only a few years of field experience. Training\nwill be in a classroom\, hands-on and field environment. We will\nstart with the basics and culminate with the option to complete IA’s\nCertified Irrigation Technician (CIT) examination (registration and payment for the exam is done separately; call the Irrigation Association at: 703.536.7080 or\nvisit  www.irrigation.org ).\nStudents in this ’Boot Camp’ training will learn the skills to install\,\nrepair and maintain irrigation systems\, including:\n– Cut and join pipe\, know the limitations of different piping systems\,\nand understand basic hydraulics.\n– Layout and install piping and water delivery components; backflow\nprevention components; mechanical\, hydraulic and electrical irrigation\ncontrols; and other irrigation system components.\n– Troubleshoot and repair irrigation components and systems.\nThis course is taught by an industry expert with over 30 years of\nlandscape irrigation management and training experience –\nChris Pine from IRRITECH Training.\nThe program covers:\n• Day 1—Introduction to Irrigation & Installation\n• Day 1.5 & 2— The Irrigation Technician Course\n• Day 3—The Landscape Irrigation Design Process\n• Day 4—Efficient Irrigation Scheduling\n• Day 5— Morning Review\, and afternoon IA’s CIT Exam (1-4 PM)
