SUMMARY:No Cost MA Workforce Training Program
DESCRIPTION:IrriTech Training is an approved provider for MA Worforce Training Fund Program\n  \n   \nThe Express Program is one of two Workforce Training Fund Programs \n(WTFP) in Massachusetts administered by Commonwealth\nCorporation. The Express Program subsidizes the cost of skills-based\ntraining via reimbursement grants for for-profit and some non-profit\ncompanies. Express is funded through a state surcharge on\nUnemployment Insurance. \nMassachusetts businesses with 100 or less employees will\nreceive a reimbursement grant of up to 100% of the cost of training.\nEligible Massachusetts businesses with more than 100 employees will\nreceive a reimbursement grant of up to 50% of the cost of training. One of our instructors will come to your facility or train your team at a site convenient for you. These training programs consist of 4 two-hour modules that can be customized to your requirements.\nA reimbursement request should be submitted once \n\ntraining has been completed and paid for in full.\nRequests must include: \n\nCompleted reimbursement request form.\nAn invoice from the provider that reflects the\nexact course name registered by the provider.\nProof of payment.\nList of trainees.\n\nCourses Offered: \nLandscape Irrigation Technician: Troubleshooting & Technology\nThis instructor-led\, in person training program is targeted toward irrigation techs with a basic understanding of system principles and able to perform simple repairs. This 8-hour program will result in: \n  \n\nA better understanding of hydraulic principles in irrigation system.\nDevelop understanding of relevant principles of electricity and troubleshooting equipment to more quickly manage electrical faults with irrigation systems.\nDevelop troubleshooting skills in more advanced two-wire paths to increase skills on larger\, commercial systems.\nDevelop skills needed to work with flow sensing and wireless communication. Training will be during work hours with presentation and reinforcement with practice activity.\n\nLandscape Irrigation Technician: Scheduling Efficiently\nThis instructor-led\, in person training program is designed for landscape irrigation technicians that have an understanding of systems and basic repair. Skills will allow technician to schedule irrigation more efficiently with smart watering technology\, resulting in reduction of water applied. During this 8-hour program tech will develop these skills: \n\nBetter understanding of soil\, plant and water relationships.\nAdvanced knowledge of system performance for scheduling.\nAbility to create a time-based schedule.\nUnderstanding various inputs required to efficiently use weather and soil moisture sensors for programming of smart irrigation technology.\n\nTraining will be during work hours with presentation reinforcement with related activities.

DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, August 10th (Rain Date:  Thursday\, August 11th) \nCheck in:  7:00 am – 7:30 am   Training:  7:30 am – 4:30 pm \nFreehold Township High School\, 281 Elton Adelphia Road\, Freehold\, NJ 07728  \nThe football field is on the right-hand side of the school in the back. \nCost:  $199 each (includes lunch and refreshments) \nThis class has been approved for 8 WC CECs for New Jersey \nGet your technicians and your management/office team some hands-on training (and credit hours!) from seasoned irrigation industry veterans using the industry’s best practices.  This day-long course is focused on analyzing the performance of an existing Five Row Football Field with Track\, performing renovations of the layout\, valves and control equipment and then measuring the improvement with a catch can test.  This will give you and your team the confidence to be able to explain the reasons why irrigation systems need updating and how this benefits your clients. \nLearning Objectives \n\nInstall 1″ FIPT Sports Field Heads on swing joints.  Raise and adjust existing heads.  Learn when to change out existing heads.\nImprove efficiencies of troubleshooting and tracking valve wiring and solenoids.\nBe able to assess valve failures and make recommendations on rebuilds vs. replacements.\nUnderstand water efficiency options for irrigation controllers and benefits of remote access.\nReview options for flow sensing\, managing water sources and recognizing backflow prevention improvements.\nDevelop skills to assess the condition of an irrigation system and recommend improvements.\nObserve a catch can test of an existing system and then again after improvements have been made and understand it’s effect on scheduling.\nUnderstand the marked and its potential for system renovations.\nImprove sales skills by building confidence with upgrades and system renovations.
