December 19, 2023, 12:30 PM-4:15 PM

Location: Online Zoom Webinar

The following topics will be covered:

  • Tools for Creating Efficient Watering Schedules:
Discussion of environmental factors that impact scheduling and why: plants, soil, water quality, weather, root depth, slope and runoff.
Discussion of system application related factors that impact scheduling and why: precipitation/application rates, uniformity, controller capabilities, water window and watering restrictions.
Scheduling “equation” and presentation of weather based and deficit-based scheduling principles.
  • Improving Water Management with Connected Controllers:
Definition of Smart and Connected controllers.
Discussion on how the industry is moving toward active water management of landscape irrigation systems and how connected controllers support this.
Water management features of connected controller platforms: flow sensing, alerts, reporting, accessibility, inspections, and asset management.
Scheduling features of smart and connected controllers: accuracy of inputs, precipitation rate inputs, predictive vs. deficit-based scheduling and active weather management.
