This full day of in-field, hands-on training includes business and technical components. The business topics include using an improved inspection process and tuning that process into sales of efficient upgrades and better system management. The technical components include a review of the unique aspects of this irrigation system(s) including improving the quality of the water source, assessing the pumping systems and possible improvements for control, managing all the controllers (some conventional, some decoder) and potential improvements, two-wire and wire path troubleshooting, simple improvements to increase system layout and uniformity and techniques for evaluating and managing the PVC mainline and piping in the system.
Learning objectives:
- Understand options for measuring and treating the quality of water for the system, including rust mitigation.
- Increase knowledge of pumping systems and control options, and basic programming skills for VFD’s.
- Increase comfort level with making recommendations for improving the control systems with appropriate upgrades.
- Improve skills with two-wire troubleshooting and diagnostic equipment (wire locating, etc.)
- Recognize simple steps to improving sprinkler layout and improving application uniformity.
- Increase knowledge of managing piping systems including larger PVC mains.
